There are plenty of face oils out in the market that promise to hydrate your skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and treat your blemishes but choosing the right one that works with your skin tone can be overwhelming and difficult. That’s where we come in. Here’s a roundup of the facial oils for every skin type, to make your life that little much easier. You’re welcome.

Best for mature skin: Eucerin Hyaluron – Filler + Elasticity Facial Oil ($99)

This oil has a water-like texture that absorbs into the skin in seconds to create a nice canvas for your makeup. You can use it twice daily as the last step of your daytime and night time routine. As it contains healing ingredients like vitamin E, it’s great for treating fine lines and scars. If your skin is on the drier side, make sure to follow up with a hydrating moisturiser.

Best for blemishes: Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution ($92)

Its dry-touch texture leaves skin satiny, not greasy. All it takes is a minute or two for the oil to absorb into the skin. Rich in activated C, this scar-reducing oil reduces the appearance of dark spots over time and is going to be worth the investment.

Best for oily skin: Chanel Huile De Jasmine ($216)

This refined oil glides onto the skin like silk. It is rich enough to be used on its own or can be added into a face cream for a more comforting texture. It also brightens the skin and helps to plump and smooth fine lines.

Best for dehydrated skin: Fresh Seaberry Moisturising Face Oil ($84)

It has a very thick consistency (that spreads well), so a little goes a long way. If you have dry skin, you can get away with applying this in the daytime (last step of your skincare). The smell of buckthorn is present so it’s great if you prefer a more natural fragrance. It’s is definitely better for the night time especially if you sleep in an air conditioned room because of its thick consistency. Your skin will be hydrated all night.

Best for sensitive skin: Canvas Rose Hip Oil Organic ($56.40)

Packed with omegas and antioxidants, this oil is great in protecting your skin from environmental stress and damage. It also feels very good on the skin and imparts a nice glow. If you have dry skin, you can use it in the daytime but if you have oily skin, keep this for your nighttime routine because it can be too rich for the daytime. Using it before bed? Make sure to let the oil fully absorb into the skin as it could leave a slight yellowish stain on your pillowcase.
