Here are some to try:

Spirulina
Dream of strong, glossy locks? This blue-green algae is packed full of iron and follicle-boosting vitamin B12, both of which are ideal for maintaining energy levels and fighting fatigue. The aquatic plant is also a rich source of phytochemicals, which are often added to anti-ageing creams – so you’ll have younger looking skin to boot!

Cupuacu
Want super-plump skin? Then reach for this creamy-fleshed fruit, which is being billed as the ultimate super fruit with its high levels of antioxidants. Rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, fatty acids and at least nine antioxidants (including Vitamins A and C), you’ll find it in health juices or in a pill.

Jerusalem artichokes
For stronger nails, get familiar with the iron-rich Jerusalem variety which will also help to beat fatigue, aid concentration and maintain a healthy metabolism.

Black garlic
Containing twice as many antioxidants as traditional raw garlic, this exotic offering will promote clear skin and strong nails. It also contains high levels of S-Allylcysteine, a natural compound that has been proven to help prevent cancer.

Hemp seeds
An excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, which promote supple skin, hemp seeds fight inflammation, improve metabolism and keep the heart healthy too. © Cover Media
