The wait is finally over. After an Asia-wide search, Kosé has found its Sekkisei princess in Singapore! The hunger games of beauty has found a winner – 22-year-old Elizabeth Han. We interview Elizabeth to find out how her skin has changed, as well as her top skincare secrets.
1. Eat and drink well
It goes without saying that you are what you eat. The Kosé Sekkisei princess believes that when your body is healthy on the inside, it shows on the outside too. Elizabeth loads up on fruit and vegetables, believing that it’ll give her great skin. Seeing her Cinderella glow, we might just go on a fruity diet!
2. “Spot-clean” your brushes
When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? If you can’t remember, you might want to clean them now. The new princess advocates cleaning her brushes each time she uses them (which might be a bit excessive) but certainly, cleaning them regularly will help keep your skin in tip top condition.
Makeup brushes and sponges house a build-up of bacteria and dirt, which is why cleaning them will ensure the germs don’t transfer (and grow!) on your face. We know cleaning can be a pain, which is why you might want to opt for “spot-cleaning” instead – simply swirl your brushes on a piece of wet tissue every time you use them.
3. Customise your skincare routine
Similar to what Ariel Lin said, knowing what works for your skin and sticking to it will help you get better skin. Elizabeth stuck to the same products for two months before changing her skincare – this gave her the opportunity to find out what worked for her, and what didn’t.
Although Kosé’s Sekkisei products work well for her, Elizabeth still customises her own skincare routine. Making her own DIY toner every evening, Elizabeth believes that it helped to keep her skin pimple-free while exfoliating dead skin cells at the same time.
4. Track your progress
How do you know if a product is really working? Unless you break out or have an adverse reaction, you can never truly be sure that a product isn’t working. As a rule of thumb, you should give skin care products four weeks before assessing their efficacy, so don’t be too early to judge before that.
For Elizabeth, she used Kosé Sekkisei products for two months before deciding whether or not it was working for her. Instead of assessing the products based on “feelings”, Elizabeth uses measurable components, such as how often she breaks out and whether her foundation shade went down a tone (to test the product’s brightening claims).
So before you throw away that new cream you bought, give it a while to prove itself. It may actually be your next miracle!
