There’s a reason why South Korea is considered a beauty mecca. They always seem to come up with the most innovative makeup and effective skincare products that deliver obvious results, fast. The latest case in point: Sooryehan’s anti-ageing Ginseng range.
What it is: Sooryehan is a holistic brand is known for infusing traditional herbs into skincare using biotechnology, which is exactly what it did with this new Ginseng line. There are just three products in the range – two serums and a moisturiser – making it a great option for busy women who don’t have the time for an extensive 10-step regime.
Its claims: Used together, Sooryehan Ginseng products are said to fight free radical damage, boost circulation and aid in skin regeneration. The result? Plumper, more youthful-looking skin.
Key ingredients: The three products in the collection all contain Ginsenoside – the active compound in ginseng that helps to boost skin vitality.
Texture: The first product to use is the Ginseng First Essence. This watery gel-serum sinks in effortlessly when you apply it and is intended to purify skin and protect it from UV damage and pollution.
Next up is the Ginseng Essence which is also the star product of the line. It’s a rich serum that feels slightly thick upon application, but gets absorbed quickly when you massage it into skin and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. Skin is left feeling instantly hydrated and significantly smoother.
The final step of the regime is the Ginseng Cream. Similar to the Essence, this balm-like moisturiser feels quite rich at first, but melts into skin with a bit of gentle massage. It’s even infused with wild honey that helps to soothe irritation and get your complexion soft and glowing.
Results: Unlike many other ginseng skincare that we’ve tried, this doesn’t have a strong herbal smell. Instead, it leaves a fresh, slightly sweet scent with just a hint of ginseng. In fact, we found ourselves applying more product than needed because we were so obsessed with the scent.
We also love how fast the products work. After just one day, our skin felt softer, smoother and more hydrated. A week on, our complexion looks more radiant while fine lines on our forehead appear less obvious. This might be an anti-ageing range but it’s great for anyone who wants healthier, more resilient skin that looks fresh and energised. This is definitely going into our “must-have” list of skincare.
