I’ll admit that I enjoy going through an extensive skincare routine, especially in the evening, when I’m ready to head to bed and begin my Instagram scrolling or binge-watch some Netflix. From cleansing to lotions, serums and cream, my nighttime routine takes about 10 steps on a regular night – because I firmly believe in devoting that 10-15 minutes to really pamper myself.

But there are those days when all I want to do when I come home is wash the day away, crawl into bed and forget the day ever happened. That’s why I always have a multi-action product on my nightstand so I can slather my skin with it no matter how drained I feel.

So when I was sent the Vitamin C Serum from Novu, I immediately thought to leave it beside my bed for days like that because it promises to restore skin glow and suppleness.

What It Is: A multi-action serum that brightens dull skin, reduces the appearance of dark spots and improves skin elasticity and plumpness. It also claims to have a 72-hour reservoir effect, meaning it creates a “reserve” of vitamin C within your skin 72 hours after application, even after you wash your face.

Key ingredients: As its name suggests, this serum counts vitamin C as a key ingredient. Commonly used in brightening, anti-ageing and antioxidant products, vitamin C is one of the most extensively researched ingredients with a proven track record to combat multiple skin concerns at once. Novu Vitamin C Serum is also enriched with hyaluronic acid to improve skin’s moisture levels for a smooth and supple complexion.

Texture: This serum has a lightweight oil texture that is easily absorbed into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave behind any sticky or greasy residue.

Results: I started using Novu Vitamin C Serum on one of those days that just never seem to end. After double-cleansing my skin, I climbed into bed and dispensed about three drops of the serum onto the palms of my hands and patted it in before performing a little light massage.

Under a minute, the serum had completely penetrated into my skin, and my skin instantly felt softer and smoother. The following morning, I noticed that my skin texture looks more refined, and it didn’t feel dehydrated, as it usually does after a night in air-conditioning.

I have been applying it twice daily for just over a week and my skin tone looks more even and I look less tired (even when I’ve slept only four or five hours the night before). My skin also feels more supple and makeup glides on more easily. And even though I haven’t noticed any visible difference when it comes to the dark spots on my cheeks and the wrinkles on my forehead, I am convinced to keep using this.

Novu Vitamin C Serum is available for a special introductory price of $68 for 15ml (UP $98).
