Chanel limited edition Collection Méditerranée Stylo Eyeshadow sticks THUMBNAIL

If, like me, you are always travelling these limited edition Chanel Collection Méditerranée Stylo Eyeshadow sticks make the perfect addition to your travel beauty kit. Unlike normal palette eyeshadow, the cooling creme consistency of the Stylo Eyeshadow stick is practically unbreakable, and they take up a lot less room in your suitcase (leaving lots more space for your shopping!).

The 5 colours ‒ Campanule (violet with blue shimmers), Azulejo (tone-on-tone pearlescent turquoise blue), Laurier Rose (golden powder pink), Olivine (satiny olive green) and Caroube (luminous, warm brown) ‒ are all limited edition but the creamy consistency means you only need to use a little of the product so they will last you for quite a while. Although I do recommend that you buy two of the colour you use the most.

The entire colour collection for Summer 2015, which includes 4 lipsticks, 2 lipglosses, 4 nail polishes and a fabulous pressed powder, was based on Mademoiselle Chanel’s love of the Riviera during the Roaring Twenties and feature shades based on tanned skin, the blue of the sky, turquoise of the Mediterranean sea.

When it comes to everyday use, the brighter shades like Campanule (pictured above right) and Azulejo (pictured above left) are a little strong for most Singapore beauty lovers ‒ these colours are very, very pigmented and despite the idea that you’re supposed to just sweep the Stylo eyeshadow stick across the eyelid, they really need a lot more finesse to use. I prefer to take a little of the colour on a disposable eyeshadow wand or cottonbud and build up the amount of colour intensity I want.

The other 3 shades ‒ Caroube, Laurier Rose and Olivine (pictured above from left to right) ‒ are much more appropriate for everyday wear. The Caroube and Laurier Rose are great for fair to medium skin, while Olivine is perfect for those with darker skin tones; and these colours can be used the way they’re intended, so just swipe away.

Chanel’s makeup has always been very popular for its colours, consistency, wearability and “stickability”. These eyeshadow shades mostly stay put all day no matter how warm the weather, although if you have a tendency towards more oily eyelids then you really should use an eyelid primer if you don’t want any slippage.

Chanel limited edition Collection Méditerranée Stylo Eyeshadow sticks, $51 each, are available from the Chanel Fragrance and Beauty Boutiques located at #B2-43 ION Orchard,  #B1-134 The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Chanel Beauty counters.
