Pierre Hardy for Nars Nail polish duo

Makeup brand Nars has joined forces with French shoe designer Pierre Hardy for a new collection of nail polishes and blushers.

Pierre Hardy has used his Spring-Summer 2013 collection as the inspiration for a colorful new set of nail polishes appearing this spring.

Available from May 1, the collection is based around six bold pairings of colored nail polish:

Ethno Run – orange, navy
Sharplines- peach, burgundy
Vertebra – coral, dusty rose
Easy Walking – rose gold, camel
Sharks – yellow, lavender
Venemous – gunmetal, black (exclusive to Nars boutiques and narscosmetics.com)

The polishes are expected to retail at approximately €28 each (S$45.24).

Nars Pierre Hardy blush paletteHardy has also used his signature cubic print as a gold overspray on two blush palettes: Rotonde, which comes in a tiger lily color, and Boys Don’t Cry in pink grapefruit, which will be available at €39 each (S$63).

The Parisian designer first became known for his architecturally inspired shoes for women but has branched out into luxurious sneakers and accessories. Hardy’s career has included stints at Hermès and Balenciaga (as a shoe designer) and at Vogue Hommes International and Vanity Fair (as an illustrator). He has previously worked on collaborations with Gap and Kitsuné, but this is the first time he has designed for a makeup brand.

Founded by François Nars in 1994, Nars cosmetics is now owned by Japanese beauty giant Shiseido, which placed 18th in the latest table of the World’s Most Valuable Cosmetics Brands ranked by Brand Finance.

Pierre Hardy for Nars collection is expected available from May 2013.
