We know how every woman likes a good sale. So when we heard that Sephora’s having their VIP sale, we said, “Count us in, please”. But before you gear up to grab all the beauty stuff – that eyeshadow palette, that skincare bundle – and more that you’ve been eyeing for ages, here’s what you need to know:

  1. You get 20 per cent off storewide. Yup, a flat 20 per cent discount off everything you see at all Sephora stores, Sephora.sg, and the Sephora App.
  2. The sale runs from April 3 – 7, and is exclusively open to only Gold members on April 3. Use the code GOLD20 when you check out the items online, and you’ll receive a limited-edition Stay Gold Tumbler with your purchase in-store or online. Yes, any purchase. But only while stocks last.
  3. Black members, the sale is open to you from April 4 – 7. Use the code BLACK20 when you check out your cart online. If you spend at least $200 (in stores or online), you’ll get a Sephora Rose Gold Table Mirror. While stocks last too.

If you’re racking your brains on what to get, check out these recommendations by our beauty team. Yes, we got an exclusive sneak peek (and grab) on the sale and we’re sharing our strategies with you here.

Melissa’s strategy: Stock up on your skincare essentials

“Even though I get almost every new makeup or skincare launch sent to my desk, I always buy my essentials – the miracle workers I use on a regular basis and cannot live without. When there’s a sale, I grab the stuff I’ve been waiting to get my hands on, like the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered Palette. No regrets picking up this shiny 18-shade baby. Every eyeshadow colour has impressive colour payoff, especially the eight Melted Metal Shadow hues, which give that eye-catching foil finish with just one swipe.

“Another goodie I’ve been waiting to get ahold of is Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning EDT. I mean, the name itself has already got me. I wish every day was a lazy Sunday and this scent, reminiscent of soft skin and bed linen, hits the spot. It’s an easy fragrance that makes you feel light and carefree. I spritz this on at the end of a hectic work day just before I leave the office for dinner and drinks with friends.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment is one of my regular skincare must-haves. I smooth it on clean skin every three to four days to keep my complexion looking fresh and more glowy. It’s also a go-to before any big event to make my skin texture look more refined and even. The morning after applying this, I wash it off and follow with my usual skincare and then my makeup goes on really well, and everything just looks smoother and dewier.”

Total damage: $312. But I saved $78!

Kayce’s strategy: Best time to buy and try (and collect)

“There’s no better time to try new beauty products than during a Sephora sale. I like the nude and berry shades on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette, so I’m adding that to my eyeshadow palette collection. And since I’m a skincare girl, I got the Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo: Total Transformation Kit and Tatcha The Water Cream to try – I’ve heard so many good things about all of them. Lastly, I have the Gucci Bloom Eau De Parfum For Her, the first fragrance by creative director Alessandro Michele to add to my perfume shelf.”

Total damage: $336.80 (It would have been $421 otherwise!). So I saved $84.20! (*proudly dusts my shoulders*)

Chelsea’s strategy: Splurge on the big ticket items

“Whenever the Sephora sale rolls along, my game plan is to snag big ticket investment items that you most likely don’t want to bomb a pretty penny on when they’re at full price. I went straight for the Foreo Luna Mini 2, and in millennial pink, no less. It’s quite literally changed my skincare routine – the gentle T-sonic pulsations feel like a mini facial massage every time; it helps to thoroughly cleanse every inch of your face and improve blood circulation as well.

Drunk Elephant The Littles Kit also made it into my top three picks, simply because of how convenient the entire range is for travelling. You get eight (!) products: from a cleanser, to a serum and even sunscreen. There’s no need to fret over getting little samples of your favourite skincare for trips anymore – simply pack the entire range in and you’re settled.

And I most definitely cannot forget Urban Decay’s Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette. The modern take on the OG of nude eyeshadows, the Naked palette, makes the 2019 rendition an equally good, if not better everyday palette. I particularly love how there are bigger pans for shades that are well-loved from the original Naked palette, too.”

Total damage: $339.20. Savings: $84.80! (That’s $424 before discount, if you’re counting. Worth it? Hell, yes.)
