The cast and crew of movie, Crazy Rich Asians, were out in full glamour on the red carpet of the film’s global premiere. Held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Aug 7), we picked three of our favourite looks from the red carpet to emulate.

Constance Wu

Chinese-American actress Constance Wu (Jessica Huang from the comedy series Fresh Off the Boat) is the main protagonist of the film, Rachel Chu. She plays New York University professor who accompanies her boyfriend, Nick Young, to meet his stratospherically wealthy family in Singapore.

Makeup artist Molly Greenwald created her sophisticated screen goddesss look with a colour palette of bronze and gold. Eyes were given dramatic effect with gleaming gold and bronze, plus the help of some gossamer lashes by Lashify. Cheeks were contoured with bronzer and lips given a metallic purple brown sheen.

Michelle Yeoh

Consummate Malaysian veteran actress Michelle Yeoh acts as the intimidating Eleanor Young. Proud matriarch of the Young family and disapproving mother of Nick Young, her understated makeup on the red carpet was done by Sabrina Bedrani.

Brown shadow, black eyeliner and lush lashes amped up the drama to focus on her steely gaze. A peachy bronze was used on cheeks to contour and add a healthy glow, while lips were given a softer touch with a rosy hue.

The acclaimed Singaporean theatre actress, Janice Koh, plays heiress Felicity Leong in the movie. Mother of Astrid Leong and sister of Nick’s father, Phillip Leong, her classic Hollywood glam look was created by makeup artist Lulu Sutphin from Chantecaille.

Lulu paired subtly glowing eyes with a modern orangey-red lip. Brown and gold was used on Janice’s eyes, while her cheeks sported a peachy flush on dewy skin with pretty gold highlights.
