Since a fragrance can mean different things to different people, we asked four women to describe Joy, French luxury label Dior’s first major pillar scent launch since J’adore. Here's what they think

Fragrances are a powerful thing. A scent can transport you – and you can blame science for that. Smells can tap into the part of the brain responsible for mood, emotion and memory.

Some smells give you energy and empowers you to take on whatever life throws at you. Others may remind you of something funny from your past. And a few can make you feel confident and beautiful in your own skin.

French luxury brand Dior knows just how personal and powerful a fragrance is and how it makes a woman feel. That is why their new fragrance, Joy, is inspired by a fundamental tenet at the house of Dior, which is to make women feel not just beautiful but happy.

The release of Joy marks Dior’s first major pillar-scent launch since J’adore, some 20 years ago. Concocted by perfumer Francois Demachy, the new fragrance is embodied by award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence  (read all about what Jennifer Lawrence thinks about Joy here).

Without revealing too much, we asked four women to tell us what they thought about this new scent.
