K-beauty aficionados, there’s plenty for you to be excited about this October.

For starters, the arrival of Instagrammable Korean skincare brand known for using cactus oil for hydration, Huxley.

Also of note – the arrival of gesgep, a beauty brand developed by celebrity Korean makeup artists Son Dae Sik and Park Tae Yoon as well as millennial beauty brand I’M MEME.

Huxley

Besides its Instagram-friendly packaging, the Korean skincare brand is known for using cactus oils for hydration, a practice that women in the Sahara desert have been using for years. The products are also formulated with prickly pear cactus extract to leave skin feeling supple and hydrated.

One star product from the brand is the Oil Essence ($60) that is made with nourishing acai berry and Sahara cactus oil to deliver long-lasting hydration without that cloying, sticky sensation. The essence is also rich in antioxidants and vitamins to fight signs of premature ageing.

Huxley is available in M Beauty at Metro Centrepoint and sold online on the Huxley Singapore website.

 

Gesgep

Son Dae Sik and Park Tae Hyun are arguably Korea’s most influential makeup artists and the masterminds behind popularizing the “no-makeup” makeup look in Korea.  

Today, in addition to working with the likes of Jung Ji Hyun and Song Hye Kyo, the dynamic duo is changing the face of makeup with their own brand, gesgep, combining the best of skin care formulas with contemporary colour cosmetics.

One of the best-sellers from the brand is the G Palette ($24, case). With the G Palette, you can declutter your makeup pouch and take all of your favourite shadows, blushers, bronzers, concealers and highlighters that have been filling up a drawer in your vanity or bathroom, and put them in this handy palette.

I’M MEME

Founded in 2014, Korean makeup brand I’M MEME is known for its trendy, fun and affordable makeup products. Cosmetics from the brand are designed for a no-fuss makeup application: most of them are in stick formats so you can swipe on and blend with your fingers – no makeup brushes required. Think Push Pops, but for your beauty routine.

A must-try from the brand is the Multi Cube ($32.90). This sleek palette contains four wearable eyeshadows as well as one blush colour. Another plus: There are numbers imprinted onto the eyeshadows itself if you need to know the sequence to create that perfect gradient eyeshadow look.
