What do screen sirens like Angelababy, Jeanette Aw and Jessica Gomes have in common? Long hair and great skin aside, these stars also have *drumroll…* small, faces with exquisite features (jealous much!).
While there aren’t any miracle creams out there that can slim our faces down immediately, there are treatments that promise a smaller mien without you having to go under the knife.
But for those of us who want to go the natural route and make use of whatever resources we already have at home, read on to find out how we can all shrink our faces through some simple massages and makeup tricks!
Instead of rubbing your moisturisers and creams onto your face, incorporate celebrity facialist Su-Man’s massage techniques into your beauty routine.
For the uninitiated, Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has previously dubbed Su-Man’s facelifting facial as “life-changing”. The famous facialist also boasts a celebrity following that includes the likes of Juliette Binoche and Freida Pinto.
To create a lifted look, massage “the pressure points around the eyes, cheeks and jawbone,” reveals Su-Man in her video tutorial above. By doing so, it’ll help in reducing overall puffiness in the face.
Here’s a step-by-step lesson; do each step for six seconds:
Step 1: Press the tip of your thumbs lightly on the inner corners of your brows and drop your head forward slightly.
Step 2: Position your index finger and thumb together — like an okay sign — and place them in the middle of your brows, pressing lightly.
Step 3: Press your middle finger at your temples.
Step 4: Use your middle fingers to press lightly under your eyes, then move them to the sides of your nose and press gently.
Step 5: Once the eye area is completed, clench your fist and place your knuckles underneath your cheekbones, pressing lightly.
Step 6: With the knuckles of your fingers, move along the sides of your face and gently rub the cheek area from your ears to nose. Because we’re so used to biting and chewing, this area is often tense; Su-Man recommends releasing tension here by massaging it gently.
Step 7: Using the heel of your palms, rub your face outwards and upwards from the sides of your nose.
Step 8: Form a V sign using your index and middle fingers, then bend them and use the knuckles to massage your jawlines upwards from your chin to the ears.
Step 9: With your fingertips, stroke the skin on your forehead in upward motions.
Step 10: Lastly, trace your fingers downwards around your face, down your neck and towards your collarbones to improve lymphatic drainage.
And there you have it; just follow the steps above to reap the face slimming and lifting benefits now! But if you want your face to use some makeup magic, give these contouring products a go:
