Glowing skin lit up the catwalks in Paris, with multiple houses opting for a beauty look that featured dazzling complexions. Anton Belinskiy, Giambattista Valli and Stella McCartney all went to town with the highlighter, dabbing it all over the models' foreheads, cheekbones and under-eye area for a seriously luminous look. At Alexander McQueen the approach was taken to the next level, with gold-toned highlighter providing a sunkissed, disco-ready shimmer.
The wet-look hair trend isn't going anywhere this spring, as proven by Maison Margiela, whose show featured models sporting a hairstyle that comprised sticky-looking strands pulled loose over the face, as a sort of veil. Rick Owens also championed lank-looking two-tone hair, while at Sacai, the hair was left damp and pulled across the face to double up as bangs. Paco Rabanne nodded to the trend by pulling wet-looking tendrils loose to frame the face.
Flashes of color
The catwalks were awash with soft, natural beauty looks, but there were also flashes of joyful color littered throughout the shows. Vivid, tangerine orange hair and matching eyeshadow and lashes stole the show at Junya Watanabe, while Manish Arora put on a typically flamboyant display, with a makeup look that featured streaks of multicolored face paint splattered onto the models' faces. Hermes opted for berry-hued lipstick, while Chanel brightened things up with a pop of cherry red lip color.
