Just ask Miranda Kerr who swears by glugging an anti-oxidant packed super smoothie every morning.
In fact, the supermodel is convinced that her power smoothie recipe is to thank for her trademark healthy glow.
“The ingredients I use are all very alkalising, nutrient dense and high in vitamins and minerals,” says Miranda, who never looks less than radiant.
So, can normal folk – who aren’t blessed with Miranda’s genetic code – benefit from a drinkable beauty boost?
The answer is a resounding yes, if you ask skincare guru Louise Tear.
“Drinking a power-packed drink first thing in the morning is a brilliantly effective way to kick start digestion, not to mention cleanse your body and boost your immune system,” says Louise.
“Aim to drink eight large glasses of water throughout the day too and your skin will be visibly plump and hydrated as a result,” she adds.
Want to start off your morning like Miranda? Then get blending.
“I use water from a fresh coconut, and also cold pressed coconut milk,” Miranda blogs.
“I then use a scoop of acai powder, which is a potent source of anti-oxidants.
“Next, I add goji berries and spirulina, which is often described as the most complete food source in the world.
“Then it’s raw cacao powder, which is cold pressed and doesn’t contain chemicals.
“I then add chia seeds which are a fantastic source of calcium and magnesium.
“They also contain lots of iron and are also really high in fibre,” adds Miranda.
