It’s finally Friday. Besides planning what to do to rest and relax, and have some fun over the weekend, I’m also looking forward to getting my weekend makeup groove on.
Yep… To me, the weekend is the time to go OTT with a happy luminous, rosy glow that’s perfect to match the laid-back, cheerful vibe.
Now, here’s what you need to get this gorgeous weekend look yourself:
There’s nothing like a good exfoliation to start the weekend. Get rid of all that dead skin so that your face is smooth and naturally brighter. Try June Jacobs Sensitive Formula Mandarin Polish Beads, $93 from Sephora.

Nourish, pamper and kickstart your skin’s glow with a face oil. Rub a generous amount in both hands then press onto your face.
Try Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil, $84 or Herbivore Botanicals Orchid – Youth Preserving Jasmine + Camellia Facial Oil, $100.
Pick a makeup primer with a balm texture to smooth skin’s texture perfectly. A balm works with the facial oil you apply just before, evening out skin tone without taking away the natural sheen of well-moisturised skin.
We like these balm primers: TheBalm TimeBalm Primer Translucent, $40; and 3CE Pore Silky Balm (Ivory), $19.

Instead of foundation, go in with a brightening concealer where needed. We like these brightening concealer formulas: Sephora Smoothing & Brightening Concealer, $24; Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer, $19.90; and Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer, $35. Dab the concealer to hide blemishes and onto areas like under the eyes, around the nose and on the forehead.
Dab on a cream blusher. I like a bit of shimmer thrown in the formula to give your complexion an extra oomph. Or if you want to really go over the top, pick a shimmer stick or highlighter in a pink hue. Apply this on cheeks and also dab a little on your eyelids, then pat with your finger so that it blends into the skin and looks like a glow from within.
Try Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Yacht Lyfe, $37 or Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick, $68.

Balm, not gloss, because a pink balm will give that dewy, just-bitten rosiness and plumpness, without too much shine. Slick on as much as you want. A huge bonus: It’s great for your lips too, keeping them hydrated and supple.
We love Guerlain KissKiss Roselip – Hydrating & Plumping Tinted Lip Balm, $52; Caudalie French Kiss Tinted Lip Balm, $19; and Burberry First Kiss, $38.
