When it comes to natural-looking makeup, no one can quite do it like Korean celebrities. Girls’ Generation Yoona, who celebrated her birthday on May 30, is one example. The singer-actress is known for her barely-there makeup look that highlights her clear skin (it must be the result of all the innisfree products that she’s fronting). Of course, she doesn’t wear only BB cushion all the time. Here are some makeup details she has sported that are so subtle, you might have missed them.
Want eyes as bright as Yoona? Her trick is using beige pearlescent eyeliner on her upper and lower lash lines. We recommend using a gel or pencil liner like Heroine Make Colour Gel Eyeliner in 01 Shiny Beige, $16.90, for a more natural-looking finish.
Bright lip colour
If there’s one thing the singer-actress is always seen with, it has got to be bright lips. Yoona is often spotted with red, pink and peach-toned puckers to complement her barely-there makeup look. Use a lip tint like innisfree Vivid Cotton Ink in No. 4, $15, to create a finish similar to Yoona’s.
While some people are all about the winged liner, Yoona prefers to subtly accentuate her lash line without that extra flick. Her eyeliner often stops at the end of her lash line, and is drawn thin and as close to her lash line as possible. Achieve this effect by using a pen liner, like Kat Von D Beauty 10 Year Anniversary Tattoo Liner Eyeliner (Limited Edition), $32, which is easier to control compared to liquid ones.
Forget dramatic lashes. The singer-actress is all about natural beauty, even when it comes to lashes. While she wears falsies, she often opts for one that looks like her natural lashes, but better. Which means, at a glance, you won’t even be able to tell that she’s wearing falsies! Avoid criss-cross ones that can give a more dramatic look. Instead, opt for natural-looking ones like MAKE UP FOR EVER Lash Show False Lashes – Natural N204, $34.
Yoona completes her barely-there makeup look with a minimal amount of blusher. Go for a light pink blush like 3CE Face Blush in Cotton Candy, $30, and using a large brush, dust lightly on the apples of your cheeks for a subtle finish. This will give you a healthy-looking glow.
