Looking through our favourite celebrities’ social media, we’ve realised that there are those who spend a lot of time perfecting their makeup to look camera-ready.

Kim Kardashian, for example, has long established herself as the queen of contouring and highlighting (imagine how long we’ll have to sit in front of the mirror to achieve her sculpted look!).

Then, there are the other stars such as Angelababy and Shu Qi who basically look like glowing goddesses even with minimal makeup on their faces (jealous much!).

Achieving this ‘natural’ look isn’t difficult and the best part? It takes way fewer steps (and time!) than applying a full face of makeup.

What this really means is that we can snooze in bed for an extra 15 minutes in the mornings. A win-win situation indeed.

So, scroll down to find out how you can look good without people commenting (or thinking) how thick your makeup looks.

#1 Exfoliate your skin

Try: Philosophy Ultimate Miracle Worker, $109

If your skin has been plagued by enlarged pores, roughness and overall dullness, add Philosophy’s latest exfoliating pads to your nighttime beauty routine. The solution combines four nourishing oils (pomegranate, argan, olive and amazonian sacha inchi oils) with retinol to sweep away the above-mentioned problems and usher in a fresher looking mien.

Available at Sephora.

#2 Apply a mask

Try: Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Creamy Mask, $148 per box of five sheets

If you’re a fan of the famed Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream EX, then you’ll be glad to learn that the luxury beauty brand has just launched a new sheet mask that boasts eight times more anti-ageing power than the famous moisturiser. The experts at Sulwhasoo have included Compound K (found in ginseng roots) that promise to boost the collagen and moisture levels deep within our skin.

What this means is that after using it, you’ll realise how glowing and plump your skin becomes. And who doesn’t want that?

Available at all Sulwhasoo boutiques and counters.

#3 Use a lightweight foundation

Try: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation, $81

If you think that foundations are all made to feel thick and heavy on the skin, think again. Guerlain’s new Aqua Nude Foundation is exactly like what it sounds.

Its fluid texture glides onto skin smoothly and leaves a weightless, non-drying and velvety finish that’s perfect for our hot and sunny weather. For stubborn spots or blemishes, simply dab a few more layers of this foundation over the affected areas to mask them instantly.

Available at Tangs.com.

#4 Apply a nude-pink lippy

Try: Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited lipstick, price unavailable

The key to looking ‘natural’ is to shun bold lippies and reach straight for pinkish nudes instead. Shu Uemura is adding 33 new shades to its Rouge Unlimited range and they all boast a buildable formula, true-to-eye pigments, super smooth finish and lasting moisture.

Our favourite is BG931 (pictured) which adds a healthy-looking tint to the puckers, making them extra kissable.

Available for pre-launch from September 22, 2017 at the Shu Uemura ION Flagship boutique.

#5 Achieve naturally fluttery lashes

Try: Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, $44

This tube of mascara from Marc Jacobs Beauty will make you forget about falsies. Formulated with Flash Volume complex, it promises to deliver fuller lashes with every swipe.

Bonus: The formula is also smudge-proof so you won’t end up looking like a panda at the end of the day. If you want a more dramatic effect, this mascara is buildable too; just remember: don’t wait for it to dry as it can result in clumps.

#6 Don’t forget the brows

Try: Make Up For Ever Brow Liner, $36

This liquid eyebrow liner has a fine tip that makes amping your natural brows up an easy affair. Each stroke is accompanied by intense pigments, meaning you won’t have to apply it several times before getting a set of naturally fuller-looking brows.

Depending on your face shape, follow these tips to ensure that your brows are always #OnPoint.
