A completed makeup look doesn’t have to take too much of your time and effort. We often find that the greatest things come in the simplest way.
Forget sacrificing your makeup in the mornings in favour of a good breakfast or choosing your work outfit. We’ve helped you streamline your makeup routine to get you out of the house as soon as possible – but still looking flawless.
#1 Filling in your eyebrows
Begin to define your brow’s shape by using an eyebrow pencil to line under your brows. Our best advice is to start from the tail end of your brows, or where the colour appears to be darkest. Work the product towards the direction of your nose with a light hand, so that the shade appears lighter and hence, more natural.
Then, use an angled brow brush to fill in the rest of your brows. Stick to drawing fine strokes to replicate your brow hairs when filling in the gaps, which will make your brows look thicker without looking fake!
#2 Sculpting your face
You don’t need a sculpting map to chisel out those cheekbones. To carve out your face instantly, dab some bronzer on the perimeter of your forehead using a small fluffy brush. Blend out the bronzer from your temples all the way towards the corners of your mouth below your cheekbones in gentle sweeping motions.
And yes, you get a free pass on pulling your best duck-face – we won’t judge.
#3 Applying your blush
First thing first, smile and tell yourself, “It’s going to be a great day ahead”! While maintaining those lifted cheeks on your face, grab a round blush brush, coat it with your favourite blush and lightly apply the product from the apples of your cheeks towards your ears. Then, place your brush on the apple of your cheeks and, by swirling it, blend the colour out to mimic a natural glow.
#4 Creating a cat-eye look using eyeshadow
For the times where you need a immaculately-finished cat-eye pronto but don’t have much to work with, this hack only requires two eyeshadow shades: A shimmery and a matte one. Apply a shimmery golden-bronze eyeshadow using a flat tipped brush all over your lids. Define your upper lash line by pressing on some matte dark brown eye shadow along your lashes, and then draw a flawless wing at the end with a sharp-tipped brush.
#5 Curling your lashes
Before using your eyelash curler, heat it up with your hair dryer for a few seconds – it applies the same logic as curling your hair with a hair-curling wand. But be sure to check that it’s not too hot, lest you burn your lids! Then, coat your upper and bottom lashes with your favourite mascara.
#6 Lining your lips
The easiest way to line your lips is to do it after you’ve applied your lipstick. If you’re using a lip colour that doesn’t bleed, define only the parts needed such as your cupid’s bow for a quick fix.
