The nude look is a tricky one to pull off this festive season: You want to balance being office-appropriate during the day with having enough colour on your face for evening get-togethers.
We asked Laura Mercier’s fabulous Global Makeup Artist Michel Coulombe, who was in Singapore recently for a press meet-and-greet, to create a look from the brand’s Holiday 2013 collection that would hold up to the rigours of night and day.
Challenge accepted! Michel – whose nimble fingers, just so you know, have conjured up fantastic looks for the runway presentations of labels the likes of Diesel, Giorgio Couture, Hugo Boss and Burberry – decided to go with a muted eye and lightly glistening lips, focusing instead on getting the skin fundamentals right.
Take it from the expert, who says that his favourite product is foundation: “Your skin is like a canvas – when it’s even and flawless it instantly illuminates your face and can make you look years younger!”
Click ‘play’ on the video below to see Michel’s tips on looking perky and fresh-faced, including some incredibly useful advice on applying concealer and cheek blush that we’ve since incorporated into our own grooming routine. We won’t spoil the surprise for you, so enjoy!
