Gucci spring summer 2012
Summer is here and there is no better time to experiment with a fresh colour palette than when you’re rocking a tan.

And whether your bronzed complexion is fresh off the beach or from the bottle, this season’s trend for bold, tropical shades is perfect for showing it off.

Indulge in flashes of aquamarine and fruity hues to make your golden glow stand out even more with these lush colour combos.

For a bold tan-enhancing evening look, try out an aquatic shade to make both your eyes and your skin tone pop.

“Turquoise and a tan go together like a bucket and spade. In fact, the two shades sit directly opposite each other on the colour wheel – we call them complementary opposites,” Dior makeup ambassador Andrew Gallimore told the UK edition of Grazia magazine.

The beauty expert recommends to invest in waterproof eye products like Diorshow Liner Waterproof in Turquoise 258, which can be worn as either a slim line across the top lash line or as a bold block of colour spread across the whole lid. To avoid makeup overkill, Andrew advised to use other products sparsely – or go au naturel on the rest of your face.

For lush holiday lips, Andrew suggests to try a delicious mango gloss to make your pout gleam.

As well as being utterly kissable, this season’s orange hues – and variations thereof – are perfect for setting off bronzed skin.

A good quality gloss, like Revlon Colorburst in Sizzle Canicule, also has the benefit of allowing you to increase the strength of the shade the more layers you apply.

“Glossy lips always look so succulent in Summer,” Andrew said. “It’s also a great way for colour virgins to experiment with brighter shades because gloss is buildable, so you can control the intensity. Wear with a coat of black mascara for a grown-up, sophisticated look.” © Cover Media
