Curls at Marc Jacobs
It was a retro hair affair at the Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter runway show.

But rather than sporting vintage up-dos, the models’ tresses were teased into fabulous ’70s-style curls.

Fancy recreating the ultra-wearable, yet fashion-forward look?

We caught up with multi-award-winning hairdresser Ken Picton to find out how to create runway-ready waves.

“The catwalks have all been full of ’70s-inspired hair, and big bouncy curls and masses of volume can be the perfect way to create a statement look with a touch of glamour,” says Ken.

Here are Ken’s top tips:

1. To achieve big and bouncy curls, like those on the runway at Marc Jacobs, start by prepping the hair using L’Oreal Professionnel Pli to achieve a light, dry texture.

2. Curl the hair using a BaBylis wand. It’s a great tool for creating curls with real movement.

3. Add a sprinkling a touch of L’Oreal Texture Dust through the mid lengths and ends to give it the ultimate London Fashion Week edge.

4. For extra fluffiness gently flick a soft brush, Mason Pearson brushes are great, through the ends to break up any heavy areas.

5. For extra volume in your style, use a new Effortless Extension, it’s a fantastic hair piece on a wire that will easily transform your hair with no damage or strain. It takes seconds to put in, place the wire at the front of your head, pull the hair over it and style as before, it’ll instantly add plenty of thickness and length. © Cover Media
