Josh Wood colours Missoni models' hair
If you’re in the least bit interested in fashion and beauty you’ll know them by their first name: Guido, Eugene and Sam.

Palau, Souleiman and McKnight, that is.

They are all tending to the tresses of the world’s most beautiful models on the runways of the most prestigious fashion brands.

And as the top hair stylists are becoming household names, so are the men working alongside them to get the models’ hair hues absolutely right.

Josh Wood is one of the world’s most famous colourists, tending not only to models but also to celebrities such as January Jones, Kate Hudson and Kate Moss.

Wood has just opened his first solo salon in London’s Notting Hill. For his atelier, he wanted to bring in the skills of the session stylist who is exposed to new trends and ideas on a daily basis.

Here you can book appointments with the first assistant to Palau and McKnight, as well as the opportunity to consult with top makeup artists.

Colour by Josh is by consultation, but the top colourist welcomes new clients.

“There used to be a hierarchy system but that’s now fallen,” he says to Cover Media.

“It is expensive, obviously, but anyone can come and see me. My book is open!”

When not discussing blonde tones with Gwyneth Paltrow or Kylie Minogue, Wood is changing up models locks at Alexander McQueen, Prada and Missoni.

“Sometimes I can’t believe I have the opportunity to work with some of the most creative people in the world. But it’s also demanding, you need experience to be at the forefront,” he says.

Out of the top stylists, Wood is working the most closely with Souleiman, as they are both working for the Wella hair brand as well as on shows.

“Eugene is magical and wonderful. He tests me to come out with more great results. He really respects colour,” says Wood.

So if you want to feel like a million bucks – and have about the same amount to spare – fret no more. Pick up the phone and book yourself a true runway-worthy hair colour appointment.
