Roksanda Ilincicn Spring Summer 2012 Hair
Grunge is back! But before you dust down your Doc Martens and pull on a plaid shirt, it’s actually just hair that’s having a 1990s revival.

Bed head locks ruled the runways at the Spring/Summer 12 shows with models rocking all manner of artfully dishevelled hair dos.

And nowhere was the look more prevalent than at Roksanda Ilincic’s London Fashion Week show.

“For Spring/Summer 12, the Roksanda hair was 1950’s Balenciaga meets Kurt Cobain when Kate Moss was still with Johnny Depp,” says Charles Worthington creative director Marc Trinder who styled the show.

Here are Marc’s tips for getting the look.

1. Prep the hair by dampening the roots with water.

2. Spritz a generous amount of Charles Worthington Front Row Reactive Spray through the roots and mid-lengths to create the look of ‘lived-in’ hair.

3. Next blast the hair with a hair dryer, running your fingers through rather than a hairbrush. This will leave the hair with a more natural, organic look.

4. Divide your hair into three equal sections and apply three to four pumps of Front Row Serum (per section) to the mid-lengths and ends of hair. Work the serum into the hair using fingertips to dishevel the surface slightly for a grungy texture.

5. To finish the look, separate the hair that naturally falls in front of your ears from the rest of the hair so that is falls in front of the collar bone, revealing the shoulders. Take the remaining hair and tie the last two to three inches with a hair band. © Cover Media
