Get bold eyeliner for all seasons
September is a notoriously tricky time when it comes to beauty trends. If the weather is bright the temptation is to stick to your Summer classics, even though all the shops will be showing off their new Fall/Winter 12 lines.

This season, there is an easy way out of the predicament. The Spring/Summer 12 catwalks saw a host of the top designers in the world embracing smudged, dark, eyeliner. So give this trend a go and you can on top of the fashion pack, while the dark tones mean it’s also a staple for Fall/Winter.

At Emilio Pucci, models paired a smudged top and bottom lash line with dewy skin and ruffled hair.

Alexander Wang saw the girls with a very similar eye look, although their hair fell in slick waves around their shoulders.

It’s a simple look to achieve at home once you have the hang of it. What takes the most time is finding out what kind of liner you are most comfortable with. The simple kohl pencil remains a staple and is probably the best for this look, as it can be so well smudged with either fingers or a brush. To ensure your look doesn’t get too out of control in the humid weather, try setting with a matching powder once you have it as you want.

There is a place for gel and liquid liners, as well as eye pens, with this trend too. Marios Schwab and Jonathan Saunders went for a more structured, winged look, which can be as discreet or as big as you want. It’s a good idea to practice this look before you go out, and pair with flawless skin and a nude lip so you don’t detract attention from the vocal point of your face. © Cover Media
