In her eagerly-anticipated new book, The Beauty Detox Foods, the celebrity nutritionist has revealed how her A-list clients achieve glowing skin and shiny hair by eating the right foods. Kimberly’s hero foods are potassium-rich bananas for blitzing dark circles and Vitamin A laden carrots for shiny tresses.

“Vitamin A is necessary for shiny, well-moisturised head of hair, as well as promoting a healthy scalp, which is essential for healthy hair growth,” she says. “And potassium in bananas helps to regulate the fluid levels under the eyes.”

SKIN
Pineapple: Can help promote the production of collagen.

Flax seeds: A good source of essential fatty acids.

HAIR
Carrots: Have a high amount of beta-carotene and Vitamin A, which is needed for healthy hair growth.

Pumpkin seeds: A good source of zinc, sulphur and Vitamin A, which together help promote strong hair.

NAILS
Millet: Gluten-free whole grains are rich in biotin, a nutrient used to treat brittle nails

Spinach and kale: Dark leafy greens are a good source of calcium.
