Dior BB Cream
Hailed as the answer to all your skincare woes in a single tube, BB creams have been a hit in Asia for years.

And if you don’t already have one in your makeup bag, you soon will, as the trend for multi-tasking wonder cream hits the rest of the world.

For those not up to speed with the beauty breakthrough, BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm or Blemish Base – but that doesn’t mean it’s a spot cream.

It’s more of a multi-function cream that has coverage and skincare properties.

Yet while BB creams were the biggest-selling product in Asia last year, European and American brands have been slower to catch on.

Last year British Illamasqua was the first brand to launch a BB-inspired product of its own.

Garnier soon caught on and launched a cream that rehydrates, evens out skin tone and light-reflects while offering cover and SPF.

And following the huge success of the Garnier BB Cream, now Dior, Une Natural Beauty, Estée Lauder, Clinique, L’Oréal Paris and Origins are launching their own versions.

The Western BB Creams are believed to be a huge success mainly because of two things – they simplify a woman’s beauty routine by offering a product that works in multiple areas instead of just one.

Plus, as perfect nude skin is a huge runway trend at the moment, BB Creams promise to deliver just that.

Rest assured that the eight BB Creams on the market this Spring will be just the beginning of a beauty revolution. © Cover Media
