Chanel’s Sublimage L’Essence de Teint Ultimate Radiance-Generating Serum Foundation

We’re not lying when we say Chanel’s Sublimage L’Essence de Teint Ultimate Radiance-Generating Serum Foundation is a real treat.

Yes, it’s pricey for a foundation, even if you consider its added skincare benefits. But, also yes, it’s worth its price – $228 for a 40ml bottle (in six shades).

Compared to the Le Teint Ultra liquid foundation (which has no skincare properties), L’Essence has a lighter, more fluid feel. You can apply it with your fingers or use the brush it comes with, which glides the product effortlessly across skin without streaking. If you need more coverage, just apply more.

The formula draws on the star ingredient of the brand’s luxe Sublimage range: specially concocted vanilla planifolia water and essence oil, extracted from the Madagascan vanilla pod. It promises – and delivers – a plumper, firmer and more even complexion.

But don’t ditch your serums just yet – L’Essence is not here to replace any part of your skincare routine, even though it almost behaves like a real serum. Just think of it as your skincare doing double duty in your makeup.

In these tough days, where illumination and skin evenness are the ultimate goals, this gets our nod.
