Chanel adds Weekend Cream to skincare rangeChanel think that it’s “time to rediscover the notion of time.” The famous French luxury brand is launching three new skincare products designed to suit the rhythms of daily life. 

The central idea behind the brand’s latest theory goes as follows: when the sun is shining our skin adapts to defend itself, but during moonlight hours, skin relaxes and repairs itself. Now that “a woman’s life is no longer as regular, as routine” the brand wants to give women a helping hand to restore the natural rhythms of the skin.

That’s where the three new creams come in, designed to be used during the day, at night, and (perhaps more bizzarely) over the weekend.

For daytime use, Le Jour De Chanel (£60, approx €70) promises to reactivate and strengthen skin using a combination of jasmine extract and salicylic acid. 

For the same price, La Nuit De Chanel is designed to repair and recharge once the sun goes down. Frankincense extract from the resin of the Boswellia serrata tree soothes the skin, while hyaluronic acid provides a plumping effect. 

Finally there’s something for the weekend, time for ‘rebirth’ according to the brand. Chanel claim that the Le Weekend cream (£72, around €80) will help to renew the skin with softening rose water and a hydrating, ultra-gentle complex with glycolic acid.
