If you’ve been watching Taiwanese variety show Lady First — it’s one of the longest running shows on tellie hosted by beloved Taiwanese diva Pauline Lan — then Kevin Chou (more affectionately known as “Kevin Lao Shi”) is no stranger.
Or if you’re a regular shopper at Watsons, chances are, you’ll have come across his face on the display shelves.
Not only has he attended to the makeup needs of top celebrities like Maggie Q, Zhang Ziyi and Alyssa Chia, the famed celebrity makeup artist is also the founder of his own beauty brand Beauty Maker which is sold exclusively at Watsons stores in Singapore.

In between his shoots, Kevin is always flying from one country to another for work trips and his vacations. With such an enviable jetsetter lifestyle comes an abundance of frequent flyer miles, double-tap-worthy Instagram photos, but on the downside, you may also get a myriad of skincare woes.
Why? It’s because flying to different countries means that he’s constantly experiencing different climates and that can take a toll on his skin. His top tip?

“Always choose your skincare based on the countries that you’re visiting,” he advises.
“If I’m visiting Singapore, I’ll prioritise lightweight skin care for the day because it’s so hot outdoors. I’ll switch to hydrating creams at night because the air conditioning indoors can zap away moisture from the skin,” explains Kevin.
