IN SHANGHAI – We joined SK-II and their brand ambassadors on Thursday, November 10, as they celebrated a new dimension of what the brand calls “crystal clarity”.
Fusing art and science, the exclusive showcase featured five specially designed Facial Treatment Essence bottles, created by SK-II celebrity ambassadors Tang Wei, Lee Sinje, Qiqi, Yoo Ji Tae and Sheila Sim.
The designs were apparently inspired by each celebrity’s own “transformation and journey” with SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence.
SHEILA SIM, LOVE.LIFE
As the newest member of the SK-II family, this design collaboration marks Singaporean model Sheila Sim’s debut. Her design features a pair of intertwining swans that are symbols of undying love and loyalty. It also celebrates love and life, which are two subjects the model holds closely to her heart. Sheila’s design expresses “the way one’s love for one’s skin translates into love for life.”
YOO JI TAE, ENERGY
“I feel fresher and my skin has become livelier since using SK-II MEN Facial Treatment Essence. People have complimented me on looking for energetic”. This is probably why SK-II’s first male ambassador, Korean actor and director, Yoo Ji Tae based his design on the theme of energy. The stylish design reflects the image of the modern man, and the the sparkle of the diamante piece is a symbol of vitality and energy, which Yoo feels is the the perfect representation of the verve and dynamism of a man.
LEE SINJE, SHINING STAR
We love Lee Sinje’s elegantly hand-drawn design of a woman with flowing hair swirling around the bottle. “The lady’s face represents crystal clear skin and the hair stands for life and the vitality of woman.” The actress was inspired by the confidence of an SK-II user in facing the world and pursuing her passions.
Wife, model, and re-known model, Qiqi brings the multiple roles she plays in life to her design. Her bottle exhibits a smartly tailored suit, finished with bold pink colour and a dotted bow to highlight the balance between her professional and family life. Despite the changes in her life, Qiqi credits her skin’s youthful look to her 14 years of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence use.
TANG WEI, STAYING TRUE
Award-winning actress Tang Wei’s bottle design reflects her philosophy of stay true. In acting, she draws strength and focus from clarity of her mind and skin to present her true self. “My designed bottle is red because I really like the SK-II red and I was influenced by my mum. When I was young, my mum loved to dress me in red, that’s how I decided to have a red bottle.”
