It’s no surprise that The Body Shop was the first beauty brand to have introduced 100 per cent recycled packaging. I remember dropping empty The Body Shop body wash bottles at the store for recycling back in the day.

I like what The Body Shop stands for. Besides their range of products, they also raise funds and awareness on key issues such as child sex trafficking, HIV/ AIDS, and domestic violence. Plus, they are against animal testing (which means a great deal to an animal lover, such as myself).

To mark these 35 years, The Body Shop Singapore has launched an iButterfly Asia iPhone app where users can “catch butterflies” via augmented reality, to redeem free prizes or enjoy discounts at The Body Shop outlets. Simply walk into any The Body Shop store in Singapore and aim to catch these “virtual” butterflies – as seen through the iPhone’s camera viewfinder by swinging the iPhone like a butterfly net. Once you “capture” your butterflies, you can stand to redeem freebies and discounts. This paper-less coupon entertainment campaign will run from September 23 to October 16, 2011, so don’t wait any longer!
