Ditch the labels, girls, for it’s a brave new beauty world out there. Lancôme’s leading the vanguard with the first “makeup” product in its top-of-the-range Absolue line, the absolutely (or is that absolue-ly) lovely Sublime Rejuvenating Essence Foundation.

Truth be told, we’re more inclined towards calling this foundation a tinted serum, because its ingredients list is incredibly impressive: Lancôme says this premium product is packed with a prodigious 45 percent of the brand’s proprietary pro-xylane molecule.

Also folded into the feather-weight foundation are a blend of pampering oils (what did we say about oils being the next big skin thing) like gentle camellia and citrus essential oils, both said to boast potent time-reversing powers.

This exciting hybrid creation feels exactly like a silky serum on the skin: None of that suffocating clinginess that sometimes comes with other heavy-duty formulas. Available in six Asian-friendly shades, this seriously sumptuous salve comes with an entirely handmade, densely bristled kabuki brush, elevating makeup application from a daily chore to a ravishingly relaxing ritual you’d probably look forward to.

To use, simply pump onto the back of your hand for gentle warming, then dip the tip of your brush into the formula. Smooth onto cleansed skin using deft circular motions, paying extra care around areas where you might need a little more help with, such as around the nose and mouth. Viola! Complexion as plump as the petals of the French brand’s fabled Absolue rose.

Lancôme Absolue Sublime Rejuvenating Essence Foundation, $138 including kabuki brush, is available at all Lancôme counters. For more information, visit www.lancome.com.sg and follow Lancôme Singapore on Facebook and Instagram.
