Beth Ditto is the latest star to partner with beauty giant MAC Cosmetics, following a long line of eccentric collaborators including style icon Iris Apfel and artist Daphne Guinness.
WWD reports January 26 that the musician, best known as the front woman of rock band Gossip, has signed to create a limited edition range for the international brand, which is set to go on sale this June.
Further details on the collection are yet to be revealed, although Ditto’s signature punky aesthetic will no doubt be an influence on the range.
The singer has been a favorite of the chain for some time, performing at the MAC store in New York for the Fashion’s Night Out event in a rainbow-colored Christopher Kane Resort dress last September. See the video at www://livestre.am/11zMo.
MAC is not the only high-profile fan of the flamboyant musician though, who in the past few days has been on the front row for presentations by the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexandre Vauthier at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, and she has previously walked the runway for the former.
The singer’s previous high street collaborations include plus-size fashion lines with British retailer Evans in 2009 and 2010, which blended 1980s-punk styles with retro 1940s-influenced pieces. — AFP RELAXNEWS
