According to researchers at Estee Lauder, the skin around our eyes experience 10,000 micro-movements a day, which is roughly equivalent to the number of steps it takes to walk 8km (this might even be more than what some of us walk in a week). So if eye serums and lightweight eye creams are not moisturising enough for you, it’s time to look to more concentrated formulas for some souped up eye care.

L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Supreme Regenerating Eye Care, $42

Meant for more mature skin types, this non-oily cream is said to reduce signs of premature ageing around the eyes with plant ingredients and antioxidants. The fragrance-free product also has a metallic cooling applicator that’s believed to help constrict blood vessels and diminish the appearance of puffiness and dark under-eye circles. Leave it in the fridge before use for even better results.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix, $113

An extension of its established Advanced Night Repair line, this boasts a formula that reportedly strengthens skin around the eye area and cushions it from wear caused by its daily micro-movements. The serum-like formula also has two types of hyaluronic acid (high and low molecular weight) so that both the skin surface and deeper skin layers will be sufficiently hydrated. Use the applicator to gently massage the product into your skin.
