It cosmetics bye bye pores loose micro powder review singapore

If you’ve got oily skin, chances are you’ve got larger pores than someone with dry or normal skin. It’s completely natural, and really not something you can help or should feel ashamed of. That said, there are plenty of products out there that claim to refine or minimise the appearance of pores should you want to, and plenty of primers that “smooth” or fill in pores to create the appearance of a flawless canvas.

I first heard about the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores powder sometime last year while watching a video by Youtuber Kathleen Lights. She claimed the powder practically erased her pores, and while the claim was certainly a bold one, I reasoned that as someone with dry skin, her pores wouldn’t be as prominent as those on someone with oily skin.

When I heard that IT Cosmetics was launching in Sephora Singapore, it was the first product that came to mind and the one I was most excited to try, followed closely by the brand’s undereye concealer and CC cream that are also huge hits on YouTube.

The translucent powder comes in two forms: Pressed ($48) and loose ($42). They have slightly different claims, with the loose powder boasting so-called HD properties, but for the most part the ingredients are similar, with stuff like real silk, collagen, peptides and antioxidants included in both. For the sake of convenience, I’ve been using the pressed powder for a few weeks to test it out, only because a pressed powder is easy to carry around without making a mess.

Does it hide pores? The bottom line is yes, it does a really nice job of making your skin look smooth and airbrushed. If you look closely, you’re still going to see some of your pores, but they will look a lot more shallow and smoothed over.

The other benefit of this talc-free powder that really surprised me, aside from the anti-ageing properties which were harder to judge, was that it didn’t break me out and did an amazing job at keeping my skin shine-free. I have oily eyelids, and typically need to use an eye primer to keep them matte all day because my concealer creases with time, but I found that this powder set the concealer perfectly and left my lids matte and smooth all day. I simply applied it with the sponge that comes in the compact, pressing the powder into the areas I need airbrushing.

That said, you may find the powder a little drying if you already have dry skin, but if you have combination or oily skin, I won’t hesitate to recommend it to control shine, especially if you’re planning on a long night out.
