There are few things more pampering than a good facial. You get to kick back and relax for a solid hour or two while a therapist works her magic on your face.

Here’s an edit of the latest hydrating, anti-ageing and brightening facials that’ve been tried-and-tested, so you know where to put your money when you’re itching for a spa day.

1. THREE Balancing Facial

The THREE Rhythm Spa, its first outside of Japan, adopts a holistic approach when it comes to caring for your skin, mind and body. Only carefully selected organic essential oils and Japanese-sourced botanicals are used in treatments. The spa is conveniently located at Tangs at Tang Plaza, so you can pop by for a lunchtime wind-down.

Great for stressed skin. THREE’s Balancing Facial is perfect for all skin types and focuses on hydrating as well as nourishing skin with a blend of frankincense and bergamot oils. You’ll feel like you’re getting a facial and a calming aromatherapy session at the same time.

The best part: The massages use the brand’s Conditioning SQ Oil. This aromatic blend, coupled with the therapist’s steady strokes, will put you fast to sleep. You’ll wake up with a firmer complexion and decolletage, plus less tension in your neck and shoulders.

Price: $160 for 60min

The revamped BioClassica line is the star of this treatment and was developed with an organic and vegan focus. All the products used are free from mineral oils, silicone, parabens, palm oil and animal-based ingredients.

Great for dehydrated skin. Dr.Belter’s range combines the efficacy of botanical extracts with science to deeply nourish skin and strengthen its natural barrier function to prevent water loss. In just one session, skin became noticeably brighter and more hydrated. Fine lines looked less obvious as well.

The best part: You get the best of both worlds with the dual massages in this treatment. The silk scarf ritual is thoroughly relaxing while the aventurine gemstone acupressure massage is an invigorating session that’s guaranteed to perk you up.

Price: $238 for 90min

This firming facial aims to balance the body’s yin and yang for a youthful complexion with the brand’s anti-ageing products. The massage techniques, applicators and skincare used are all developed in Korea.

Great for dull skin. Ginseng, the key active in the range, is revered for its rejuvenating properties. During the facial, you’ll also be treated to a spa-exclusive moisturising ampoule for added radiance.

The best part: Feel like royalty as your face is massaged with two special jade rings. In traditional Korean culture, jade is linked to values like nobility and purity, and is said to promote a stable body and mind. This massage also helps to boost circulation, and is said to be able to slow skin ageing and lift facial muscles for that coveted V-shaped jawline.

Price: $260 for 80min

Reveal a brighter, clearer complexion with this deep-cleansing, exfoliating facial that is meant to even out patchiness, reduce the occurrence of breakouts, and improve the appearance of fine lines.

Great for acne-prone skin. Say goodbye to gunk, excess oil and dead skin cells with this non-invasive peel treatment that is exclusive to the DrSpa outlet at Tangs at Tang Plaza.

The best part: The meticulous extraction process. We are not going to lie to you about this part. It could hurt, but you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing all your pores will be thoroughly cleared out. Even if your skin is thin and sensitive, you will only experience minimal redness afterwards.

The Red Door Spa is now in Singapore, and located within the Elizabeth Arden boutique in Ion Orchard. Five of the Elizabeth Arden New York Extravaganza Facials, including the one we tried, are exclusively available here, and are every bit as pampering as they claim to be.

Great for tired skin. The ceramide range helps to smooth lines, firm skin and enhance its ability to retain moisture. Layered one on top of the other, two masks are used during this treatment to soothe and hydrate skin while giving it a lift.

The best part: No one knows your skin better than you do, and it’s great that you can tweak the facials to suit your needs here. Personalise your experience by talking with your thereapist about a custom top-up, like diamond peel microdermabrasion (+$90) or Oxygen Beauty Blast (+$35) to infuse skin with minerals, oxygen and hyaluronic acid.

Price: $150 for 75min

6. Spa Esprit Beam Me Up Facial

Photo: Spa Esprit

This unique facial uses a high-powered Near Infrared (NIR) lamp to emit light waves that heat tissue deep beneath the skin’s surface. When that happens, the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated, resulting in lifted, firmer skin. It will also feel warm because of the NIR beams, but rest assured that the process is comfortable and painless.

Great for saggy skin. We naturally lose collagen and elastin, so this is perfect if you are experiencing the first visible signs of ageing

The best parts: Immediate results and zero downtime. Afterwards, the skin in the cheek area and jawline will appear  tighter for days. Pores and fine lines will be less obvious, too. To reap the full benefits, it is recommended that you do six sessions two to four weeks apart, with yearly follow-ups.

Price: $350 for 75min

7. La Mer Miracle Broth Facial

Photo: La Mer

The Ritz-Carlton Spa has partnered with the famous skincare brand to offer luxurious facial treatments. At the top of the list is the Miracle Broth facial, which will restore balance to your skin. Only La Mer products are used, including the spa-exclusive Miracle Broth, which is essentially a nourishing and potent blend of sea kelp, vitamins and minerals.

Great for fatigued skin. Environmental aggressors like air pollution and blue light from electronic devices contribute to poor skin health. So if your complexion is dry, sallow and rough because of these factors, this facial will fix everything. You’ll walk out of the spa looking nothing short of radiant.

The best part: The massage using La Mer’s The Moisturizing Soft Cream to boost microcirculation. The techniques used by the therapist are very effective. Expect to see visibly lifted and glowing skin afterwards.

Price: $480 for 90min
