It's not an opinion that orange-toned lipsticks don’t suit Asian skintones - there’s science behind it. Orange falls 'yellower' on the colour spectrum and because of that – when matched with our warmer, yellower Asian undertones – they make us look a little sickly.
And so we end up shunning away from oranges, which is quite a shame. In the right shades, oranges can help to gently brighten up your complexion, lending an overall radiance to combat dullness. It's like how using a orange/peach colour-corrector on dark eye circles helps to cancel out darkness. When on the lips though, the trick is to not pick true oranges, or colours that are primarily orange.
Go instead for orange-reds. They have red as their base, but with just a touch of orange for that still-flattering pop of colour. Additional bonus: it’s a notch up the typical blue-based red, so you can be sure to stand out from the crowd with it.
