Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne has announced the global launch of a limited edition nail polish strip collection with Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects brand.

Set to go on sale in April at US$9.99 per kit, the line will include 12 designs such as tiny skulls and leopard prints, influenced by the singer’s pop/rock sound.

“I was really excited about the Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips — especially since they’re super quick. You clean your nails, peel the strips and apply them, file and go. I’m superfast at it, so it takes me like five minutes to do my nails.

“And it’s super cool because the designs that I came up with are my personal style and vibe – they’re rock ‘n’ roll and fun and bright and colorful. You have sparkles and little stars — they are cute,” the musician told WWD.

Lavigne is the latest in a long line of pop stars to venture into the realm of nail art; both Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj have teamed up with O.P.I. for nail lacquer lines and Lady Gaga’s holiday partnership with US department store Barneys last November included four sets of limited edition press-on nails created by the singer’s nail artist Naomi Yasuda and beauty brand Kiss.

Lavigne, whose resume already includes three women’s fragrances and the Abbey Dawn clothing line, doesn’t want to stop at nail art either, and hopes to add to her beauty category in the future.

“I think it would be cool to do hair color,” she mused. –AFP RELAXNEWS
