Japanese beauty skincare brand Astalift is the crown jewel of the Japanese multi-national company, Fuijifilm Corporation.
You’re probably thinking, “Fujifilm? Photographs?” You’re right. But you’ll be surprised how much photographs and skin-ageing have in common. Fujifilm has built its roots as a photographic film manufacturer but now they have applied their photographic expertise to beauty brand, Astalift.

- Control of Oxidation
Skin ageing is said to be caused by oxidation, a natural process which also causes photographs to fade. To prevent photographs from fading, Fujifilm uses anti-oxidation has now applied the same principle to Astalift products where skin is nourished to be protected from oxidation.
- Combination of three types of collagen
Many may not be aware, but collagen, which makes up 70 per cent of human skin, is also a main component of photographic film. Astalift has been formulated with three different kinds of collagens that targets a specific purpose – to moisturise, improve skin firmness and replenish lost collagen. - Nano-technology
Nano-technology is utilised for exposing and colour developing in film and now Fujifilm uses the same knowledge of nano-technology to allow nano-sized skin nourishing ingredients to penetrate deep into the different layers of the skin.
Astalift’s anti-ageing products are formulated with a key ingredient – Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is the main ingredient that gives Astalift its natural red colour and is the same red pigment often found in carrots, salmon and prawns.
This powerful antioxidant is said to protect collagen within the skin from damage and deterioration while helping skin maintain suppleness and firmness.
