As the temperature drops, the elements can be unkind to mature skin so it’s vital to choose make-up that hydrates and nourishes. After all, nothing accentuates fine lines and wrinkles like dry skin.
We caught up with celebrity make-up artist Jackie Tyson to find out her top tips for creating a beautifully youthful base at any age. For a gorgeously plump and glowing complexion, Jackie recommends starting off with a primer.
“A primer provides a base for your foundation, which will ensure it will stay put longer, but will also help give the illusion of flawless, radiant skin,” she advises. “Look for sheer and creamy foundations. Powder can crease and cake up, calling attention to wrinkles.”
If you suffer from age spots, these dark areas can become more pronounced as the years tick on, even during the darker fall months.
“For foundation, Teint Miracle by Lancôme remains a permanent fixture in my kit for a beautiful bare skin look and it has the added benefit of that all important SPF 15, essential for keeping wrinkles at bay,” says Jackie.
“For a luminous finish, Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder is fantastic,” she adds.
