GlamGlow Supercleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser Mud To Foam2Glamglow super mud Foam cleansers that help to prevent clogged pores.jpg
$59, available at Escentials and Sephora stores from the end of this month

Riding on the success of its clarifying mud masks, GlamGlow has launched another new mud-related skincare product.

This cleanser promises to mattify, clarify, treat problematic skin and refine pores. It is made to dissolve excess sebum, make-up and dirt.

It contains Mediterranean clays to detoxify and refine skin, bamboo charcoal to nourish, liquorice extract to improve skin tone, black cumin seed extract for its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, as well as glycolic and lactic acid to gently exfoliate.

A moisturising and calming version, the Thirstycleanse, will also be available.

Review: Straight from the pump, the formula is a charcoal-black cream that smells and feels refreshingly minty. Following the instructions, I first rubbed the cleanser on dry skin, and it got rid of my waterproof eyeliner almost immediately. After dampening my skin, the formula turned soapy with a thin lather. I was disappointed with the lack of foam, but the cleanser did its job. My face was thoroughly cleansed of the waterproof foundation. The skin was left feeling matte, but not too dry and tight.

Ettusais Jelly MousseEttusais Jelly mousse 2 Foam cleansers that help to prevent clogged pores.jpg
$30, from Ettusais counters

Known for its bubbly cleansers, Ettusais’ latest one promises an even denser foam to rid skin of make-up and dirt trapped in pores.

It is made with chamomile extract, rosemary extract, glycerin, collagen and hyaluronic acid, and is also non-comedogenic.

Review: Unlike the brand’s previous foam cleanser, the Foamy Rich Mousse, which dispenses a thick foam right from the nozzle, the Jelly Mousse comes out of the can as a thick gel that bubbles up on its own. As I slathered it over wet skin, the cleanser turned into a very dense and cushiony foam – the perfect texture for gliding a cleansing device or shaver over the skin.

A little bit of this cleanser goes a long way, too; just a pea-sized amount was enough for my whole face.

I also loved its mood-lifting citrusy grapefruit scent, and how it left my face feeling soft and supple.

But while it got rid of the waterproof foundation, it left behind traces of the waterproof liner.
