SINGAPORE - Singer Stefanie Sun is pregnant again.
The Singaporean singer is expecting her second child with her Dutch-Indonesian husband, Nadim van der Ross, with a due date in July.
The 39-year-old confirmed her pregnancy by posting a selfie on her Instagram page on Thursday (Jan 25),with the caption: "Yes, I am now as fat as two people."
The couple, who were married in 2011, have a five-year-old son together.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, she became pregnant in October but was unaware of it then.
In November, she fell ill and cancelled a meet-and-greet session in Taiwan, leading to speculation that she may be pregnant.
The singer later took to her Instagram account to clear the air, saying that she was not pregnant.
It was only after she felt unwell during a publicity event that she found out she was expecting, but decided to announce it to the public only after passing the first trimester, reported the Chinese newspaper.
In a statement released on Facebook on Thursday, MAKE/MUSIC and Universal Music Group thanked fans and the media for their "concern and well wishes as we count down to the arrival of the baby".
"We would appreciate if fans and media alike can give Yanzi and her family the privacy they enjoy," the statement added.
Sun declined to speak to the media, but her publicist told The Straits Times that the singer is "in good spirits", and will complete all ongoing promotional activities for her latest album A Dancing Van Gogh across Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia until February.
The gender of the baby is not yet known because Sun is still in the "initial stages" of her pregnancy, but she has already gained 2kg so far.
