Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
The royal announcement of their third child was made early Monday morning via a press release from Kensington Palace.
While the duchess is less than three months along, it is understood that the announcement was made as she had to cancel an engagement on Monday due to extreme morning sickness, or hyperemesis gravidarum.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said:
“Their royal highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“As with her previous two pregnancies, the duchess is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. Her royal highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road children’s centre in London today. The duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
Parents to Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, their third child will be fifth in line to the British throne, while the Duke’s brother, Prince Harry will be sixth in line.
The Duchess was publicly seen last week during a visitation to a memorial garden dedicated to the princes’ late mother Diana.
