Dubbed the world’s most famous bridesmaid after showing off her beauty (and her curves) in a fitting ivory Alexander McQueen dress at sister Kate’s royal wedding in 2011, it’s now Pippa’s turn to be the bride!

The British socialite got engaged to longtime boyfriend, financier James Matthews over the weekend of 16 July 2016 in Lake District, England. The couple dated briefly in 2012 before splitting. Pippa subsequently dated Nico Jackson for three years after before getting back with James.

James was said to have asked Pippa’s father, Michael Middleton for his permission before asking her hand in marriage. The future bride said “yes” after James got on one knee and presented her with a diamond ring.

There has been no confirmation from the pair, but Pippa was spotted trying to hide her left hand out of sight when she attended the gala for the British Heart Foundation on Monday (18 July 2016).

The wedding is said to take place in 2017, and will be one of the most talked about events in the year after Kate’s royal wedding in 2011.

Update from The Straits Times, 20 July 2017

The royal couple “are absolutely delighted with the news”, a Kensington Palace spokesman said after Pippa stepped out in the morning wearing a diamond-studded engagement ring valued by jewellery experts at 200,000 pounds (S$355,000).

Pippa began dating the 40-year-old Matthews nearly a year ago (2015). The couple were recently spotted together at the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
