Sharon Tan, 30 and Timothy Lin, 32, made it official with an elegant ceremony and banquet at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s Tower Ballroom.
We started out as good friends in university, and only got together the year we graduated. It’s been 10 years since.
While we were travelling in Austria last year, Timothy surprised me by proposing on a pier overlooking the beautiful Lake Traunsee as the sun was setting. It was an unforgettable moment for us.
On our wedding day, we had the gatecrashing before our solemnisation in the Shangri-La’s Dutch Pavilion, and a banquet in the Tower Ballroom.
Following a Chinese wedding blessing for fertility, the bride and groom invited their nephew to move around on their bed.
I was sure of what I wanted in my gown from the start: a lace mermaid with a V neck bodice. Lace is always fashionable, feminine, and, most importantly, beautifully bridal.
Our wedding colours were pale green, blue and champagne.
We didn’t have a theme, but it had to be classy and elegant – and it was very important to us that our guests had a good time.
CC Lee Designs created the chic and elegant decor for the banquet.
Elegant, fresh Phalaenopsis orchids adorned their wedding cake, and featured in the table arrangements.
Everything went according to plan, and we had a lot of fun during our wedding. It wasn’t as tiring or stressful as people said it would be.
We were so glad we managed to make the rounds of all the tables, and say hello to everyone who took time off to celebrate with us
