Lionel and I met at a rap concert six years ago. We had dinner right after it was over – and the rest is history!

We’d been living together for a while, and had been thinking about taking the next step. When we got pregnant, we couldn’t think of any reason not to celebrate. There was no surprise proposal or flash mob; just a good ol’ honest “Let’s do it!”

When the time came, we knew we wanted to have our wedding in our own home – and it turned out to be our biggest house party yet.

We had lunch for our families, dinner with our friends, and an after-party that went on till six the next morning.

I’d read the vows Lionel wrote beforehand, but hearing him recite them to me from his heart truly touched me.

My wedding gown was a timeless silhouette in duchesse satin with a half-bow in the back. It was minimalist, classic and everything I wanted.

The banquet paid homage to my culture, and thanks to our friends at Creatures, we were able to serve amazing Peranakan fusion dishes created especially for the occasion.

We thanked our guests with cigars for the gentlemen, and earrings for the ladies.

Was it the happiest day of my life? Well, it’s right up there with the day our son was born!

We truly enjoyed our special day. It was a beautiful start to the rest of our lives.
