It is easy to go overboard with the smoky eye look but Balmain S/S17 show how we can keep it moderate for Spring. The key is to go easy on the blacks and heavy on the browns. Smudging it out well and dabbing a spot of metallic shimmer on your lid will complete the look.

Pastels might seem like an unlikely colour palatte for eyeshadow but Jill Stuart showed how they can be used in their S/S17 show. The overall effect was girlish yet subdued, with the soft pastel hues carefully blended in on the lids with a finishing akin to watercolours on canvas.
