Can you feel it? Love is in the air. We have a feeling that many of you are either planning to pop the question or you’re already planning your wedding.

Either way, your wedding location is a topic that is bound to come up sooner or later. If you’re wondering about a more creative way of celebrating your matrimony, and you know, break with convention but not break the bank, well, we’re on the same page.

There’s no denying that money can be a significant source of stress in your relationship, not to mention your wedding planning. You may have found Mr/Ms Right, but there is no right answer to what you should or should not spend on.

The groom, for instance, may not think 100 extra white roses count as essential expenditure, but you can be sure it’s a different story with the bride.

Many couples are considering taking a more wallet-friendly and intimate approach to weddings, cutting out the stuff that don’t really matter, to focus on those that do. So, let’s start with the location, shall we?

Tanjong Beach Club

It looks like a small space at first glance, but you’d be glad to know it can hold up to 300 guests. If a “chilllaxing” beach vibe is what you’re after, Tanjong Beach Club is quite the perfect backdrop for your “I do’s”.

  • Cost: S$52 to S$123 per pax (inclusive of meals) / S$38 to S$64 per pax (inclusive of canapés)
  • Capacity: Up to 300 guests
  • Website: www.tanjongbeachclub.com/

Lewin Terrace

A lovely black-and-white house that oozes class and warmth in every corner. This cosy space can hold up to 100 guests, and is perfect for a mid-sized wedding with your closest friends and family.

Gardenasia

Is your dream wedding a fairy tale set in a garden? Look no further than Gardenasia, which has an outdoor chapel area, which is a romantic choice for your solemnisation. Its luscious greenery is the ideal backdrop against which to exchange your vows. Dreamy.

The Chapel at Imaginarium

A capacious (read: super spacious) venue that gives off an intimate vibe with its clean lines and interior, this chapel has a long aisle that is going to make a bride feel like a princess. That said, you won’t actually have to be royalty to afford the space. It’s affordable and gives you the luxury of customising the layout to exactly how you envision it, and has a lovely bridal room to boot. All we can say is, book now.

Little Island Brewing Co

Cool couples, hands up! This one is for you. The industrial-chic café boasts an alfresco space which, if you’re lucky, will offer you the gift of a sunset by the sea as you say “I do”. If you’re not one for fuss, and just want to enjoy a good time with everyone you care about — imagine a live band and dancing all night long — then the Little Island Brewing Co is the place for your big day.

Open Farm Community

Getting married on a farm? Why not? Open Farm community is not your typical farm. It’s a farm-to-table restaurant with a beautiful rustic garden setting which will make for a truly unforgettable wedding. Oh, and the food is great, too.

  • Cost: S$57 to S$135 per pax (inclusive of meals) / S$68 to S$120 per pax (inclusive of canapés)
  • Capacity: Up to 48
  • Website: www.openfarmcommunity.com/

Vineyard at Hortpark

Intimate. Simple. Classy. Is that what you have in mind for your special day — or night? There is a gorgeous spot overlooking greenery as far as the eyes can see, and an “infinity” pond that provides a picture-perfect backdrop.

The Artshouse

A wedding doesn’t get more unique than this. Did you know you could actually book a space at The Artshouse on such an occasion? There’s something so very Carrie Bradshaw about this. If you and your other half are culture vultures, then, voila! Starting a future as man and wife amid the history of Singapore? How poetic is that?
