First up, get enough rest. But we know, with all the hectic wedding planning in tow, it can be hard to get in the extra Zs. Here are our tips instead.

Bio Essence Bio-VLift Eye Lifting Essence, $39.90 for 20ml.

#1 Plump up your skin and reduce wrinkles

Fine lines and saggy, crinkly skin are the first to age your peepers. The ingredients to look for in your eye creams include:

– Hyaluronic acid for hydration

– Glycerin for moisturising

–  Argireline, a peptide that helps in tightening and smoothing out fine lines

– Squalane, a naturally derived ingredient that smooths skin and aids in retaining moisture.

– Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 with anti-aging properties that help in combatting under eye wrinkles

#2 Beat dark eye circles

Genetics (ugh), rubbing your eyes and fatigue all play a part in discolouration, which is essentially blood pooling underneath your eyes.

Topical solutions with retinoids and Vitamin C can help with the problem but those with ultra-sensitive skin should proceed with caution, especially since the skin underneath the eyes are thinner and more delicate.

Caffeine, applied topically, makes dark circles less obvious by constricting blood vessels. Try chilled tea bags on your eyes, or an eye cream infused with caffeine. Injested, however, caffeine can make your dark eye circles look worse so limit your daily intake.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, $98 for 60 patches.

#3 Skip the salt and alcohol

Not only does a bad night’s sleep lead to puffy eyes, so can consuming too much sodium and alcohol since it causes fluid retention. For a quick fix to depuff eyes, antioxidant-rich cucumber slices and cold spoons are effective  home remedies. Or you can try gel patches (like these ones from Peter Thomas Roth) that instantly deliver a shot of intense hydration and help smooth wrinkles. For better results, pop your gel patches or serums into the fridge for a few minutes.

The night before your wedding : Sleep with your head propped up with an extra pillow to prevent excess fluid buildup.

Plus, its proprietary LACREONTM technology promises a 20-hour cushion of moisture so it stays comfortable throughout your wedding day.

#5 Don’t overpluck your eyebrows!

Losing eyebrow hair is a telltale sign of aging so don’t be too enthusiastic with the tweezers! Lush arches – think Cara Delevigne and Lily Collins – are the way to go for a more youthful look.

#6 Beware the falsies

Heavy, fan-like ones can cast shadows on your under eyes, especially when there are lights overhead, giving you dark circles you might otherwise not even have. Plus, they can make your peepers look even smaller, instead.

Go for single false lashes near the outer corner to give your eyes a more lifted and natural appearance instead.
