It’s been around for a while but the boho trend proves it’s here to stay, and for good reason, too – there’s just something effortlessly beautiful about the mix of natural, rustic and vintage hippie vibes. While flower crowns, woodsy elements, brown hues and delicate floral details might come to mind, Wan Jing of Knotties Frame and florist Liz Florals took a minimalist approach with their boho-themed styled shoot. They tell us:
“We decided to create this styled shoot to inspire couples who are always on the lookout for refreshing ideas for their weddings. We explored new ways of presenting the increasingly popular bohemian theme by adding a minimalist & modern twist to the setup. It got us excited just thinking of the possibilities of fusing ‘classic’ and ‘rustic’ in one setting.
“We wanted a harmony of bold and soft in one palette, that represented love that’s brave, free, and cherished. Thus, we decided on the main colours of bold burgundy, gold, and subtle hints of soft dusty blue which were highlighted in the bouquet, and the secondary colours of brown, peach, and pink ombre. We also included dancing clematis flowers in the Pantone colour of 2018!”

“The concept of the dining table was included because food tends to be something we all hold dear, especially in Singapore. Dining with your loved one is a way to spend quality time together and having it on a beach with wedding details makes for a special moment. Our dining set-up focused on hues of bold red, soft blue and gold.”
A tablescape with a neutral colour palette gets extra visual impact with a jolt of deep rich hues. Elegant calligraphy by Nic & Kotori, alongside delicately detailed serviceware, set the tone for a romantic and relaxed affair.
Florals, browns and prints are synonymous with bohemian wedding cakes but Shirly Twirly had a different idea in mind. The patissier created this beautiful confection topped with macrame lace (an on-trend detail) as well as feathers, and a mix of textures that included luxe marble and brushed gold.
To complement the seaside setting, what better way than a message in the bottle. For extra wow and to give your guests an inkling of your wedding theme, consider sending these as invites, too!

Alternatively, think floral lace and flowing tulle layers like this one- what every boho bride’s dreams are made of. For the groom, skip the formal tux and go for a relaxed suit in light hues (like khaki) instead.
When it comes to the arch, floral arches or chuppahs are lovely but if you’re up for something a little more unconventional, this specially crafted asymmetrical floral arch exudes a minimalist and refreshing look.

Like the table centrepiece, the bridal bouquet was a clutch of pastels punctuatedwith deep eye-catching reds, fuchsia and vivid ultra violets.

Have your arch work harder for your wedding portraits! Winding glowing lights around the arch as night falls instantly transforms the scene into a magical setting brimming with romance.
Here, light painting (a technique in which light was “painted” in a long-exposure shot) was employed to add a twist & creativity to the shots.
When shooting outdoors:
“Stay happy and worry-free! With a good mood, the shoot will be a breeze and the photos will turn out to be natural and dazzling.”
